Monday was the second of our monthly Style Surgeries with the fabulous Helen Boyle, stylist for Swimwear365.

We asked you to send in your swimwear and holiday style questions for Helen to answer in the live chat on Twitter, here was all the conversation from the chat…

Swimwear365: It’s time for today’s live Style Surgery with @HelenBStylist! Follow#swimwear365 for all the conversation…

So - @HelenBStylist are you ready?! Here comes the first question…

I’m top heavy and want to divert attention away from my top half when wearing a bikini any ideas? Asked by @sam_c_9876

Helen Boyle: It’s key to go for a good fit with decent cups, underwire and straps for support. http://t.co/kJqWV7lo

S365: What are the key swimwear trends this year?

Helen Boyle: Soooo many! Bright bold colours, tropicana style prints, the nautical look  pretty florals & the white bikini. I’m also loving the vintage retro styles. Think 1950′s shapes which are also super flattering too.

S365: What’s the best swimwear for a mummy who still hasn’t lost her baby tummy? Asked by @blitzycat

Helen Boyle: I love http://ow.ly/bftZU it’s a great colour & still has the fabric support and ruching detail to mask your tummy

S365: I’m a size 18 but with a small waist. What style of swimwear would suit me? Asked by @bigfashionista

Helen Boyle: This swimsuit http://ow.ly/bfu9x comes in your size & the detail will accentuate that gorgeous waist of yours

S365: How many swimsuits/bikinis do you take on a week’s holiday?

Helen Boyle: The more the merrier I would say. You can never get bored of loads of swimwear and the selection from swimwear365 is great!

S365: What’s the most flattering cut-out swimsuits for both curvy and super slim girls? icon smile Helen Boyle Style Surgery – Live Twitter Chat  Asked by @thestylerawr

Helen Boyle: For a pear shaped figure this cut-out is perfect as the dark bottoms draw attention upwards http://ow.ly/bfuia. I also love this one http://ow.ly/bfuru as has a retro feel and the ruffles will accentuate a small bust.

S365: Retro and vintage style swimwear has been a big trend – does this suit certain body shapes better than others?

Helen Boyle: It depends on the era. The 1950′s retro shapes suit an hourglass or pear shaped figure. The 60′s shape suit an apple.

S365: I’m quite broad at the top of my thighs/lower hips what’s best way to slim them hi or low cut swimwear? Asked by @goriami

Helen Boyle: I would go for a lower cut bottom with no ties or detailing at sides as that would draw attention to the problem area.

S365: What’s the IN Men’s style for shorts or trunks this summer? Asked by @theitalianj0b

Helen Boyle: I’m personally a shorts man unless you want to show off ha. Am loving the tropical trend http://ow.ly/bfuwS

S365: What are your 3 holiday must-pack items?

Helen Boyle: Oooh hard one – I always pack too much. My piz buin suncream, a triangle bikini for max sun-age & a compilation of my fave tunes.

S365: I have large boobs & I’m about 14 in bottoms can you suggest decent bikini that my boobs won’t fall out? Asked by @murphybaby1

Helen Boyle: A halter-neck and decent sized cups would be my suggestion. This bikini is super flattering http://ow.ly/bfuDT. Oooh yes and just found this beauty and if you prefer u/w support. Fashion forward too http://ow.ly/bfuKJ

S365: What would you dress Jessie J in for the beach?

Helen Boyle: I have 2 options. Option 1: http://ow.ly/bfuTr with statement gold jewellery and perhaps a clashing kaftan. For a swimsuit option, I love this palm print bikini. It’s got a great back too http://ow.ly/bfv2Q

S365: Do you have any pet hates when it comes to holiday style?

Helen Boyle: I think it’s important to ‘prep’ yourself b4 a holiday esp if you know you’re going to be getting your flesh out to the world and I’m not a fan of 3/4 utility/combat trousers for men or women as just think they unflattering on most.

S365: And finally…Is it ever acceptable to wear heels round the pool?!

Helen Boyle: Unless you’re partying, taking part in a photoshoot or looking to seriously impress!! Then I would recommend a flat sandal.

S365: And that just about wraps it up for today’s Style Surgery! Thanks so much @HelenBStylist you’ve been amazing! icon smile Helen Boyle Style Surgery – Live Twitter Chat xx
