Swimwear Preview – Antigua
Each month, we ask a style blogger what they would pack on their break to a popular holiday destination. This month, we asked Claire from ‘Montage Me’ what she would take on her holiday to Antigua.
Antigua is one of the most popular winter escape destinations and while I really love Christmas in the UK, come January I find that I’m really lacking in vitamin D and some “oomph”. With the beautiful island boasting as the choice holiday home destination of Giorgio Armani you know this is a stylish and popular destination, so you need to get it right! The island plays host to two different sides; the traditional Caribbean vibe with its bright colours, palm trees, and steel drums vs the glossy and luxurious side with the stylish rich and famous. A good balance of the two is a must for my suitcase.
I’ve never worn a bikini before, but I’m willing to risk it for the style of this floral print balcony number. Not only does the high waist keep in my wobbly bits, but it oozes sophistication, timelessness and femininity and the bright colours definitely match those of the island. When in need of a cover up, this white fringed summer top is perfect and it wouldn’t look out of place alongside a straw hat whilst dreamily horse riding across the beach during an impressive sunset.
These flat floral embellished sandals are an essential as they’re hugely versatile. I love to explore on holiday, so they are perfect for walking to discover waterfalls, culture and classic markets without sacrificing style. When paired with this versatile sequin top dress, they’re ideal for a fancy champagne party among the twinkling lights, lapping waves and impressive boats.
Here in the UK I can’t and won’t set foot in the sea, but the crystal clear warm waters of Antigua beckon me in. I’ve chosen this innovative underwater camera mask as I like to think of myself as a keen photographer with a love for landscapes and animals/wildlife – so photos of the coral reef, dolphins, sea turtles and silly puffy-faced self-shots are a must.
