Love Disfigure was born out of a need to raise awareness and support to those living with disfigurement. Founded by child burn survivor Sylvia Mac, who at the age of 48 dared to bare her scars for the first time.
Love Disfigure want to challenge the face of fashion and in 2018 hosted a photoshoot, inviting men, women and children who had scars to take part and promote self confidence to others. At the launch of the campaign Sylvia wanted to ‘firstly challenge the fashion industry to become inclusive of people with disfigurements and differences. And secondly, to invite leisure centres to use the images and help support and encourage everybody to swim’. Here is a range of swimwear that was featured at that photoshoot.
