Swimwear perfect for your shape

Here at Swimwear365 we believe that every body is a beach body, but we know that for some people stripping down into swimwear can be a daunting thought. Dressing to flatter your figure and accentuate your best assets can help give you the extra boost of confidence that can make all the difference! So, to help you get that perfect feel good swimwear, we created a shape calculator. Below is a guide to the different body shapes.
SHAPE: HOURGLASS
An hourglass is characterised by a well-defined waist and equally proportioned bust and hip ratios; this shape will suit most styles of swimwear.
Matching bikini sets in a single colour or matching prints will keep your top and bottom in proportion.
If you want to show off your curves, a low v-neck will accentuate your cleavage and ruching around your middle will draw attention to your slim waist.
Tops with underwiring offer added support if you’re an hourglass with a larger bust.
SHAPE: OVAL
Oval shapes have a round profile, meaning weight is carried mainly on the stomach and bust. The right swimwear can add definition to your waist and can better highlight the many great features you have.
Tankinis provide great coverage and many come with in-built shaping panels to help create a smoother silhouette.
Swimsuits or tankinis with dark solid side panels and a patterned centre can elongate a figure.
Cross-over style swimsuits or low v-neck tankinis are great to highlight your fantastic bust area.
SHAPE: TRIANGLE
A triangle shape tends to carry more weight on the bum, hips and thighs and has narrow shoulders and a smaller bust. Certain swimwear styles can balance out your proportions and flatter your body shape.
Padded bikini tops will enhance cleavage – if you have a different size top and bottom, go for mix and match to get the perfect fit.
Pairing a patterned top with plain, dark briefs is great for balancing out your proportions.
Consider avoiding high-cut briefs and go for low-cut briefs which draw attention upwards.
SHAPE: DIAMOND
Diamond shapes have large bust, broad shoulders and a slimmer bottom half. Our top swimwear tips aim to shift the focus of attention and balance out your body.
Plain tops paired with patterned bottoms in a mix and match set will move attention downwards.
Emphasise your skinny waist and tummy with tankinis and swimsuits that are cinched at the middle.
Strapless tops can make a bust appear bigger, so be wary of these styles if you want to minimise this area.
SHAPE: RECTANGLE
The Rectangle shape is ‘straight up and down’, meaning you have relatively narrow hips and bust. Follow our tips if you want to create the illusion of curves by adding definition to the chest and bottom
Padded cups enhance cleavage, and frills and ruching draw attention upwards.
Triangle bikinis with low necklines will further exaggerate cleavage.
Bikini bottoms in bold prints or with extra detailing add interest to that area, giving the effect of a fuller figure.
